"Lower away!"

I was being lowered away from the ship. Then just as we reached to the sea, there was another lifeboat being lowered on top of us! It was lifeboat#15.

"Stop! Stop!" yelled the crewmen and people in our boat. The people who was lowering lifeboat #15 didn't hear us. The crewmens in our boat cut the ropes off our boat. I figured we are going to be crushed. Luckly we were pushed away from the Titanic just in time lifeboat #15 gets in the water.

Mean while back up on the Titanic, Leroy and John were helping the officers lower the collapsibles which were on the roof of the officers' quarters. By now everybody were aware that the Titanc was sinking and they began to help the officers and crews lower the lifeboats.

"Leroy," begin John, "If I don't make it then could you take care of Melana,"

"What happens if we both don't make it?" asked Leroy.

"Don't think about that, Leroy, we're survivors," assured John. "Anyways good luck. You have been my very best friend and almost like a brother to me."

Leroy went back to helping the officers lower the lifeboats. They were lowering Collapsible D.

"Waaaaahhhhh!"

Leroy turned around heard a little kid crying. She did not have her parents with her and he felt sorry for that kid. He did not know where her parents were and wanted to help her.

It must be scary with no one with no one you could trust to be with you and protect you, thought Leroy.

He picked up the little kid and realized it was Katrianna. When they board the Titanic they met and Katrianna and him became friends instantly. "Where's my mommy and daddy!"cried Katrianna.

"Don't worry Katrianna, I am sure your mommy and daddy are safe,"assured Leroy. But inside he had a feeling that Katrianna might not get to be renited with her parents. Then Collapsible D was lowered.

It was around 2:20 am and the only lifeboats that were there were only Collapsible A and B.

"YOU STAND BACK!" shouted 1st officer Murdoch. He was pointing his gun at the passengers. One person walked forward and Murdoch shot him. Then another came forward and he shot him. Then he shot himself.

Then water rushed up to everybody's knees. The officers and crews try to get the collapsibles down by using the oars as ramps to slide it down but teh collapsibles were too heavy and it smashed the oars. Collapsible B landed upside down.

John lost sight of Leroy. He was trying to find Leroy and also hoping to save himself.

Where is Leroy? he thoght to himself. People were rushing to the back of Titanic. Finally John gave up finding Leroy and ran to get to the back of the Titanic. John was trying to keep his balance when he get up to the back. It was so hard for him to get back because the Titanic was slant now. Finally he reached to the back. All he had to do is wait until the time to plunge into the water.

All the lifeboats were lowered already. Leroy jumped into the water despite it was icy cold. He swim and swim until he got to collapsible B which was overturned. 2nd Officer Lightoller was incharge of that boat.

I am pretty sure that what happened according to what John and some friends I made in the steerage told me. Anyway back to the story.

I was out in the Atlantic Ocean and I saw people running to get to the back of the ship. Some jumped into the water. Then the lights on the Titanic blinked once and went out. Then it started to break into two. The stern went down to the ocean. The other half just floated and started to go down the ocean. I wondered where John and Leroy was.

Maybe they sneaked into lifeboats or they are in the water or maybe... they...., no I shouldn't think about that. I tried to purge that thought out of my mind. I heard people cry out for help. It was this scene that I would never forget. I stared out in the dark hearing the cries.

Meanwhile in the ocean John was treading water to get back to the surface. He looked around for something to float on. He found a piece of a door and climbed on it. Leroy on the other hand was frozen. He wanted to to go to sleep, but if he did then he would never wake up. What about me? I am safe and warm. Leroy tried to be awake for a long as possible but he gave up. He died from hypothermia.

John waited until a lifeboat would come and get him. Then the cries were getting quiet.

"IS ANYBODY OUT THERE!" shouted 5th officer Lowe.

John saw a lifeboat coming and yelled,"Yes, its me!" He swam and reached lifeboat #14. He got on.

So we waited until a ship Carpathia come and get us. By morning Carpathia came. We got on the Carpathia.

I searched for Leroy and John and Katherine. At first I can't find then then I spun around and found John.

"I am so glad you're here."I cried.

"Me too,"said John.

"Where is Leroy?"I asked. I had this feeling that something has happened to Leroy.

"He.....he .....died,"John bursted into tears. "He was my very best friend in the whole world. We did everything together."

Alot of people who are on the Titanic who are steerage people ended up the same fate as Leroy. Katherine probibly didn't make it too. More children died in the steerage than men in the first class.

I felt sorry for Leroy. I turned around and found Katrianna. She would be heartbroken if she heard the news. Katrianna ran towards us.

"Hi, Katrianna,"I greeted her.

"Where is Leroy,"she asked. I had to break the news to her.

"I'm afraid Leroy died,"I said.

Katrianna began to cry. "Just like Daddy,"she sobbed.

Only 705 people survived the horrible disaster. The other 1500 did not. I felt sorry for those 1500 people. I was lucky that I survived the disaster.
